Oliver Field

Oliver Field | Community Connections Librarian | Buller District Libraries

I am originally from South Africa but have been in Aotearoa for three years. I have a background in education and have been at Buller District Libraries since September 2024. I have a passion for literacy and am looking forward to sharing ideas and learning more about the New Zealand library world at the National Forum – in particular the children's and young adult spaces.

Away from work, I enjoy playing and watching sport, and reading books that I've taken out from the library.

Oliver is attending the PLNZ National forum via a regional scholarship sponsored by The National library of New Zealand.

Fiona Rongo

Fiona Rongo | Puna Kōrero Ratonga Hangarau | Technical Services Librarian | Matamata-Piako

I have held the diverse and wide-ranging role of Technical Services Librarian here at Matamata Piako District Libraries since June 2023. Prior to moving to Matamata Piako District, I worked in the academic libraries sector for 30 years at Te Pukenga Manukau Institute of Technology, most recently as Library and Learning Services Manager. Since moving from academic libraries to the public libraries landscape I have attended PLNZ Waikato Bay of Plenty Regional meetings (online and one in person), and have found them to be very useful in helping me gain a better understanding about how New Zealand public libraries work, especially at the leadership and strategic level.

I am currently Co-Chair of the LIANZA Te Whakakitenga aa Kaimai Regional Committee, and have just recommenced my LIANZA Professional Registration. I am already an Associate of LIANZA.

Fiona is attending the PLNZ National forum via a regional scholarship sponsored by Peter Pal.
