Auckland Council Consultation information
10-year Budget 2021-2031 Consultation Document (PDF 4.3MB).
Two areas to note are:
- The proposal to remove library overdue fines on page 47: Removing library late return fines: We are proposing to remove late return fines on library books and other items but will continue to charge lost book replacement fees and fees for rentals. Each year around 35,000 library members stop using our services because they owe us more than $10. We will lose revenue from fines of around $1.2 million per year. You can read more on the proposed changes in Section 7.12a of the Supporting Information document. 10-year Budget 2021-2031 Supporting Information document (PDF 18.6MB)

Sensory Rooms
Lorraine's question to PLNZ colleagues
Public feedback to the concept design for the Gore Library and Community Spaces Redevelopment https://lets.talk.goredc.govt.nz/gore-library-and-community-space-redevelopment has seen a number of requests for sensory spaces for adults and children who experience sensory processing disorders, or autism spectrum disorder.
I understand these are provided in some schools https://www.especialneeds.com/blog/sensory-rooms-explained/ but do any public libraries offer anything along these lines?
